Bright amber glow
Bright amber glow
Hopefully someone can assist me. My motherboard shows a slow pulsing yellow light, no output on monitors, and USB ports aren’t functioning. It worked fine just a few minutes ago, but now my friend’s graphics card isn’t working either. The issue started after I tested it recently. This model is an Asus Prime A520M, and I don’t have the manual—I got it from a friend a couple of years ago.
Which yellow indicator? Which motherboard is this? Capture an image as clear and detailed as possible from the spot where the yellow light appears. It might point to various components such as the CPU, GPU, or RAM. You mentioned testing someone's GPU in your PC. Did the system function normally before the test? Was it operational throughout the testing process? Did performance drop only after the test? If failures emerged post-test, it could suggest a GPU issue—perhaps the PCI-e power connector wasn't fully seated. Or maybe there was an error during reinsertion. If everything worked prior to and after the test, consider the possibility of excessive power draw from another device, potentially damaging your PSU. Unlikely unless it's a faulty power supply with a fire hazard.
The manual does not address installing graphics drivers for other users' GPUs.
The graphics cards were identical, but the PC wasn’t posting. To confirm there was no issue with the graphics card, I installed it in my PC and appreciated the manual. Thank you!
Their machine wasn’t functioning properly, so you removed the graphics card from their setup and inserted it into yours. Now your device is performing the same action. Could you provide the complete hardware details—processor, graphics unit, memory, power supply, etc.? Have you already attempted a CMOS reset?
Please confirm the complete build details: case, storage drive, and power supply. Your full system specifications are welcome.
