Hello, I recently assembled a new PC in December. This is my first encounter with such an issue after building several machines before. The system frequently crashes under various conditions and while playing games. Recently, it remained booted long enough to run Memtest on a separate drive. I’m currently reinstalling Windows to restore a solid foundation. So far, the PC has never crashed during startup—only once during Windows installation. At times it fails completely before reaching the loading screen.

Specifications: Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Kraken 240 AIO, Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE AX ATX AM5, Teamgroup TForce RAM (2x16 DDR5 6600), Samsung 980 Pro GPU, old PC parts including PNY 4070 xlr8, NZXT H5 flow case, Corsair RM750E 2023 PSU, 750W Windows 11. I also used an Elgoto capture card.

What I’ve tried: Reseating RAM, cleaning GPU connections, checking cables (CPU and GPU power), and reinstalling Windows. Details about crashes and errors are limited. Many reports mention driver issues, unhandled K-mode exceptions, and no crash notifications. The worst case was during a Palwars session—PC froze repeatedly despite normal temperatures, eventually halting boot into Windows.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, even if you suspect the problem stems from a faulty Windows install.

Attempt to start in Safe Mode with networking. Ensure the session lasts sufficient time to obtain dump files. If the application freezes immediately, use the "From a black or blank screen" setting. Microsoft designed this option more user-friendly than pressing F8 at boot. Navigate to C:\Windows\Minidump and verify presence of any minidump files. Return to the main Windows directory and transfer the entire Minidump folder to your Downloads folder (desktop works if OneDrive isn't syncing). Compress the copied folder and post it. Follow all instructions precisely, as Windows discourages file manipulation in that area.

It depends on the cause; if you started fresh and the issue persists, it might point to a deeper problem.
