Borderlands offers an engaging experience. Playing Dead Space 3 together with a friend was enjoyable, even though we mostly did simple tasks.

Mass Effect Three multiplayer offers exciting gameplay... Payday Two and Geometry Wars (?) are some RTS titles; Sanctum 2 shines as a great casual cooperative experience. Orian’s Prelude is a lighthearted, funny start if you enjoy Minecraft-like fun.

Do you need a local coop on a single machine or do you have multiple computers? If you have two, consider Payday 2 Diablo II & III Killing Floor Trine 2 Torchlight 2 Orcs Must Die 2 Portal 2 Minecraft Borderlands (any of them).
