Boxed or improvised outdoor extension solution?
Boxed or improvised outdoor extension solution?
Hi all, I'm using a caravan on some camp sites and want to pull in a stronger WiFi signal for my wireless devices. I was considering getting a purpose built outdoor extender/repeater such as the Eap225 but I noted the indoor equivalents are much cheaper. This got me thinking whether I could purchase a better indoor model, say a WiFi 6 model with better range, and put it in a drybox so I could still put it outside. I was wondering if the plastic of a drybox would hamper signal performance or whether this would be a better performing solution for the same price? Not sure if this is a bright idea or a stupid one, happy to be told either way, and added thoughts/comments. Thanks for your help!
Equipment for outdoor use must withstand varied weather conditions. A sealed indoor device inside a waterproof casing is likely to overheat.
