Hey, I recently received a graphics card from the guy who sold my PC because the old one burned out. Now I have an RX 580 with 8GB instead of the GTX 760 with 2GB. It’s an upgrade, but I’m still unsure if the issue lies with the processor (Intel Core i5-3570) or something else. I’m not getting the full performance I expect, like the benchmark scores I saw online. Maybe it’s a mix of both. I’m not sure if upgrading the processor is necessary or if there’s a fix for this setup. Thanks for your time.
Did you test DDU prior to installing the new card to clear the previous graphics drivers? This is particularly crucial when changing between Nvidia and AMD cards.
CS:GO relies a lot on one processor, older chips struggle with single-threaded tasks compared to newer ones. That’s probably why the performance gap exists. Yes, it’s likely your CPU is limiting speed in CS:GO if everything else matches.
