Hey how’s it going guys. Back about three years I was a regular PC gamer, but my PC stopped working and I didn’t have the funds for a while. I just saw someone listing their rig on Facebook Marketplace—it was only 420 and it was a solid offer. It includes: Amd FX 6200, 16GB Corsair DDR3, MSI GTX 1060 3GB, 240 GB SSD, Western Digital Black 1TB, and a 630W 80+ power supply. I think I might be missing something to boost performance, since in most games frame rates drop from 40 to 60 to around 30 seconds. Any tips on improving it?

1080p available for all. Dota, ESO and Rust so far. I need to purchase more games and then download them as I just got them last night.

Dota shouldn't be experiencing issues on that hardware, though eso is a concern, and rust seems to be struggling with the CPU. There isn't really a way to upgrade to something modern without replacing the motherboard. If you already have a good motherboard, the only quick fix would be to overclock it.

To assess if the motherboard is good, check its compatibility with your components and performance reviews. For overclocking, research safe methods and ensure stability before attempting changes.

Are you asking about the specific model? There are many overclocking guides available for older FX processors.

I wasn't able to express it clearly. It seems you might be able to find an old 83xx at a very low price, which is a great deal for you. Because if you switch the processor to a newer one, you'll need to replace the motherboard and RAM.
