I added the additional 4-pin CPU connector just for backup. Checking Task Manager shows the CPU running at a low GHz, but I’m not sure if that’s because I didn’t use it or something else is affecting it. When I didn’t have the extra connector, my PC seemed to perform better. Is this just a placebo effect?
Is the processor busy? Should it always operate at maximum frequency? Does it seem sluggish? If there’s no workload (like you’re just checking Task Manager), it probably won’t run at full speed continuously. Running at full speed isn’t ideal because it wastes energy unnecessarily.
