You're thinking about purchasing Quest 2 for Half Life: Alyx. Your main worries are your i5 4570 CPU and RX 580 GPU. In games like Warzone, your CPU can lag from 16ms to 20ms, which causes stutters. You're concerned it might be the same in Alyx. Consider whether this setup will handle the game well before deciding.

Experiences problems with VR on that processor. The session won't be smooth and may trigger motion sickness from the unstable frame rate.

When you tweak the game, it becomes achievable, though not perfect. Low Spec Gamer has a couple of videos covering this topic.

The suggested processor is a 7700, and I reviewed both CPU spec sheets—it looks quite similar in benchmarks. I’m still unsure about the details.

VR usually relies more on the GPU compared to other titles, even though the CPU remains much less powerful; you might still encounter some problems.

the i5 4560 falls far short of the performance offered by the i7 7700. it would easily surpass the i5 4560 in speed.

It's the i5 7700 or 7500 you're referring to. That's the processor I mentioned earlier.

The 7700 is an i7 processor, not an i5. There isn't an i5 7700 available.

This refers to the 7500 series of graphics cards. It seems you're asking about its relevance and performance, especially with an i5 4560 CPU.

I understand what you're asking. In short, the IPC ratings of the I5 4570 and I5 7500 are quite close, which likely explains the similar benchmark results despite their different clock speeds. This means both CPUs perform similarly under load, leading to comparable gaming performance.
