Bottleneck?
Bottleneck?
Hello,
My PC setup:
i7 4790
z97-K motherboard
16 GB 1600 MHz RAM
GTX 1660 Super
I’ve been playing Apex Legends lately and I’m getting decent FPS (around 100+, with lower settings), but it feels choppy and sometimes becomes blurry, then sharpens up a bit later. I wondered what might be happening. After checking the in-game CPU and GPU usage, I noticed my CPU is often over 80% while the GPU stays around 90% and drops to 50%. Does this suggest my CPU is the bottleneck and should I consider an upgrade?
Looking forward to your thoughts
With kind regards
I sense it's similar in COD Warzone, yet different in titles such as Valorant, AC Odyssey, CSGO, and Witcher 3
Use a greater portion of the GPU in Apex and increase certain parameters.
Mobo doesn't matter.
The CPU is a 4 core with 8 threads, which is the minimum today but still powerful enough.
GPU is ideal for 1080p.
You're more likely to upgrade your CPU if you aim for higher FPS and better performance in BR games. The 1660 super can handle any game at 1080p.
My display settings are 1920x1080 with a 144hz refresh rate. I don't have FreeSync or Gsync installed. This monitor is fairly outdated.
A more suitable inquiry would be: Are you satisfied with the results you're receiving? If yes, everything is fine. If not, you should consider upgrading.
