I observed a deal offering two games plus a 3-month Xbox Game Pass subscription, which includes an AMD card and/or CPU. I need to decide between the R5 3600 and the 5700 XT. On one side, I’m not a big Borderlands player (only enjoyed the second one, and its loot system isn’t my thing). On the other, Ghost Recon Breakpoint is receiving poor reviews, and I haven’t played any Ghost Recon titles. I don’t have strong preferences either way... I’ll choose the better game. What do you think would be a good choice?

These two titles are solid choices. The main advantage of getting Ghost Recon lies in its stunning visuals, though I’m concerned about the micro-transaction-heavy design that might make it feel like a pay-to-win experience. I hope Ubisoft develops another Splinter Cell game centered on single-player play. Borderlands still suffers from performance problems, and while it can be repetitive, it remains an enjoyable FPS if you prefer that style. Personally, I’d pick it because it offers a complete experience without the constant spending pressure.

Borderlands 3 is definitely the best one I’ve owned in a month after launch. It’s the only game I bought quickly and it really paid off. I played through it fast since the story was so engaging. Now I keep playing it nonstop to find weapons for Mayhem 3—it’s an amazing title.

Ghost Recon faces criticism mainly because it feels similar to Wildlands. Wildlands has been my go-to game since it came out in late August. It’s visually stunning, deeply immersive, and I strongly suggest it. You can easily reach 125 hours in just over a month of relaxed play.

Intuitively, I’d pick Ghost Recon Breakpoint since its title reminds me of Metal Gear Solid V: the Phantom Pain. However, the reviews are quite negative... they’re terrible, and many expect it to fail within a short time. It also bothers me because Ubisoft is involved, whereas my last favorite from them was Far Cry 4. I lean more toward Borderlands 3, but I’m hesitant due to its poor optimization, unbalanced gameplay, and possibly weak writing. The decision hinges on choosing between a European EA product and a humanoid EA. Still, I’m not complaining—NVIDIA has worse issues. I’d go for it because my dad enjoys Borderlands 1 and 2, so he’ll probably like version 3 too. Regarding LAN play, do we need an extra copy? And have any updates been shared about future DLCs? I recall Borderlands 2 expanded with DLC characters and missions, which adds value. That’s extra content for the full experience. What do you think about its optimization? Can you share your thoughts on the story? Opinions are mixed—some find it cheesy, others say it’s decent but not outstanding. You’re the first person I’ve heard praise it so much. Personally, I appreciated Borderlands 2’s writing; Tiny Tina, Sir Hammerlock, and Claptrap stood out to me. Is the game predictable? Does it tackle politics? Is it aimed at a narrow audience? And beyond just loot—what about gunplay, action, exploration? What’s the community like?

Negative feedback often draws parallels with Wildlands and portrays it as inferior. Issues like glitches, dull settings, poor graphics, weak sound effects, and basic weapon mechanics stand out. Even ACG scored it the lowest among similar titles, calling it a "never touch" experience.

Wildlands is worth checking out for its appealing visuals and interactive experiences. You can purchase it for between $10 and $15.

It seems The Outer Worlds is also on the list. We have little information about it so far since it hasn't been released yet, but it looks promising. So... Outer Worlds versus Borderlands 3. What do you think? That's a solid suggestion, though Wildlands isn't part of the bundle.

I wasn't aware Borderlands 3 was poorly optimized. It performs well on my system, which might be due to my hardware being quite advanced. I haven’t finished the game yet, but it’s been quite enjoyable so far. The narrative is solid thus far, and the characters fit the borderlands vibe nicely. I’m not sure what bothers you about the loot in your original version, but it’s similar overall. There’s an abundance of items, including many firearms and other gear. The variety is impressive, handling different functions well. For instance, in Borderlands 2 shields offered limited effects such as massive protection, spikes, explosions when empty, and a few more I can’t recall. Now shields can block bullets, project shields, etc. This game excels in loot variety. You face numerous options at each decision point. The vault hunters are also very impressive. The Siren has powerful abilities that make her stand out. It feels like you’re becoming a powerful fantasy hero. There’s even a character with pets you can command. I’m currently taking on that role. The skill trees are more refined, allowing you to enhance your abilities with various effects.

Don't feel pressured to purchase a pre-made bundle. Assemble your own PC. Grab Wildlands at its next discount for $10.00. Purchase the original Borderlands with all DLC for $1.00 to $4.00 when it reappears near that price. And that's about it. Borderlands 3 isn't worth the concern when there are other Borderlands titles available at similar prices and offering comparable gameplay. Head over, take down enemies, gather loot, return, repeat.
