So I just dropped a bunch of $$ on Borderlands 2, plus all the DLC on Steam, loaded it up, followed my usual routine, cranked everything to maximum and started playing! It worked really well, running at 60fps.

Until I needed to use any menu at all. As soon as I began moving the mouse, the whole game froze—even the OS with my CPU/GPU utilities and temperature readings. But once I stopped moving the mouse, it recovered quickly.

The strange thing is, it only worked smoothly on 1440p and 4K resolutions. Not on any other settings, and with a big screen, lower resolutions looked like Minecraft art.

I checked the latest mouse and GPU drivers, turned off VSync, reduced the polling rate, but I still had no idea what I was doing wrong.

I have an i7 8086k processor, a GTX 1060 with 6GB of RAM (it’s a bit of a bad combo, since I got the 8086 free), and 16GB of DDR4 3200 memory.

I truly hope for your benefit you purchased the Handsome Collection for $6.12 that contains BL2, the Pre-sequel, and all the DLC... But, I wouldn't be surprised if BL2 doesn't function properly at resolutions higher than 1080p, considering it was released in 2012 after all. I also recall it not performing well on an ultrawide screen.
