I've been testing Borderlands 2 lately and noticed PhysX drastically drops my frame rate during intense battles. My system runs a 760 and a gt640 dedicated to PhysX, yet the issue continues. I checked some settings like limiting particle counts, but newer versions of the game don’t include those options (possibly due to patches). Ideally, I’d expect smooth performance with this setup, but it crashes to around 15 fps when PhysX is on high. Could be my CPU is handling the workload, or maybe the GPU isn’t rendering the effects properly—though the Nvidia overlay doesn’t indicate a problem. Anyone have suggestions for a fix?

I ran some tests and found that my 760 rendering PhysX gave the highest FPS, while 640 or CPU performance matched it. I also completed a Fluidmark benchmark with each setup and consistently achieved the same FPS. This suggests there might be an unusual issue.

Yes, I confirmed the supplemental card was set to use PhysX within the NVIDIA Control Panel, not GeForce Experience.
