Hey there, I've built a new system and everything seems fine until I hit a snag with the RAM. When I try to set them to their listed speeds, placing them in slots 1 and 3 works just fine at default. But when I switch to the DOCP profile and push it to 3600mhz, the system crashes repeatedly, loops three times, then enters safe mode and takes me through the UEFI setup to tweak things. Switching to slots 2 and 4 resolves the issue completely—I can set the speed without any trouble. I've experimented with single sticks in each slot, but the problem only appears when multiple are used. The motherboard is a Ryzen 9 5950X with two 16 Trident Z Neo modules, and the ROG Strix X570-E BIOS is up to version 4002. Is this something typical? Could it be related to the motherboard or installation, or maybe another factor? Any thoughts? Thanks!
I don't get it, right? The picture in the manual seems odd—being completely unresponsive is unsettling... I'm curious if filling everything in would help.
They advise using designated slots for a valid reason. This is tied to the memory layout of the board. The inability to boot with incorrect connections doesn't imply any issue with those slots.
