You have a Windows XP SP2 32-bit system. You need to upgrade step by step due to motherboard limitations. To reach Windows 7 you’ll create a bootable USB, then use that to install Windows 10. Since you’re stuck in XP, focus on making the bootable drive work first.

You're asking about the process of installing Windows 10, specifically what happens when using a Windows 10 installer and booting from a USB drive. It sounds like you want to know the required system specifications and how to prepare the installation media with tools like Rufus.

Core 2 Duo e8400 with 3.5 GB RAM DDR3 Mercury G31 board often displays just the Windows 10 logo when installing a Windows 10 installer, sometimes showing a stuck cursor. I’ve run Windows 10 on this machine but prefer using the .exe file for updates. Now I’m stuck on Windows XP and don’t have a bootable drive to upgrade to Windows 7.

Do you own another PC? I plan to use that one to install Windows 10 onto the drive, then transfer it to this machine. After the first restart, I’ll move the drive into the new PC. Would you be able to create a bootable installer using Rufus?

I attempted to make a bootable pendrive using WinSetup from USB, Ventroy, and even tried Android, but the results were disappointing. Using Rufus with Ubuntu didn’t work, and Windows XP doesn’t support 64-bit applications.

Do you own another computer? Have you attempted to set up Windows 10 using a DVD or CD? This method usually resolves problems where USB drives fail to install properly.
