Hello everyone, I hope you're all well. I own a Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 5 processor and an RTX 2060 graphics card. I'm having trouble enabling secure boot in the BIOS. After checking some forum discussions, I still can't turn it on. I've tried switching from UEFI to Legacy mode, but nothing works. Do you have any suggestions?

Return to UEFI mode, secure boot is only supported in UEFI, not in legacy versions.

I attempted it too, but the issue persists. It seems reinstalling Windows and restarting might be necessary. Could that be correct?

I hadn't looked into it before since I wasn't really interested. When I tried installing FaceIT, it mentioned a need for secure boot. I had never worked with secure boot settings before, and I hadn't adjusted them. After upgrading to Windows 11, that might have affected it. The laptop I bought about a year and a half ago came without an operating system.

Yes, it could be related. Since your OS uses a GPT partition and your game storage is an MBR, mismatched partitioning might cause issues.

It seems you're questioning the effort behind installing Windows 11 and wondering why it felt so demanding. You're curious about how someone managed to switch to a newer OS despite having a stable laptop, and whether the process was overly complicated.

I don’t mean to limit myself to just one app. I’m trying to understand what’s going wrong and if there’s a way to fix it. Regarding the Windows upgrade, I’m not familiar with it—it needs a TPM 2.0 chip, which I do have. I’m unsure how it was activated before installation.

There is a point of UEFI & GPT boot drive and so far it's a per system compatibility. One would think games take more space than OS & Apps. and you'd boot from MBR drive and game from GPT. I don't see any benefits from Secured Boot option to be better than running an anti-virus. Someone logged into your PC can simply overwrite your Bios through an "auto" update or your boot sector. Chasing ghosts & goblins. The average user will not run into a mediocre hacker that gets blocked by secure boot or anything at higher level.

Several games I'm attempting to run only function properly when Secure Boot is activated.
