Boot process remains inactive despite CMOS reset attempt.
Hey everyone, my setup is an Intel 8700K with a Gigabyte z390 and Aorus Pro Wi-Fi. My life was great until I decided to install Windows 11. I had to adjust a BIOS setting for the Intel Trusted Platform, which worked fine. I went to sleep and tried playing FIFA this morning. The system kept saying "secure boot is not enabled." I attempted to enable it in BIOS but got a "no platform key" error. I found a setting and changed it to custom, which allowed the PK to install normally. After rebooting, Windows 11 still refused the secure boot, and system info confirmed it was off. I tried toggling the BIOS again from disabled to enabled, then rebooted. No changes afterward. I went back to BIOS, turned the jumper from disabled to enabled, and rebooted again. Still no success. I cleaned the CMOS battery and thought about reseating the GPU, RAM, and even tried a different computer. The GPU, CPU, and motherboard all worked fine—my old system was just a "zombie." What should I do next?
It looks like there are two separate problems. W11 isn't working properly, and I've attempted to enable TPM but faced issues with Secure Boot. After switching back to W10, the situation might be different. If you haven't uploaded yet, it could indicate a hardware problem or a strange crash with the UEFI BIOS. Try removing the boot drive and attempting to boot from a W10 USB stick.
It made me reflect. I didn’t go through all the steps without using the GPU. I removed it, re-flashed the BIOS, and it reset correctly. Eventually, I realized keeping it on afterward wouldn’t affect performance once it worked on another machine.
