Boot Error Due to Overclocking
Boot Error Due to Overclocking
I recently began seeing a message similar to this on startup.
I have never messed with overclocking, or my BIOs.
I have just installed a new video card and processor while I wait on my new mobo.
Currently I am running:
GA-78LMT-S2P
AMD FX-8350 black edition
MSI GeForce GTX 750Ti
Any help would be appreciated. This should only be a temporary issue, but is quite annoying nonetheless.
Thank you in advance!
Your issue is that the motherboard doesn’t support the FX 8350. The GA-78LMT-S2P model only backs Phenom II, Athlon II, and Sempron chips, not FX or the 8-core FX 8350. Your board only has 4+1 power phases and FX 8-core processors require 8+2 phases to function correctly. Your BIOS is showing a boot error because it can’t recognize the FX 8350, which isn’t officially supported. The FX 8350 will not work properly with your current setup. You’ll need to upgrade to a compatible motherboard. I suggest the GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3P, which is a solid choice.
