Boosting memory speed and adjusting settings. Assistance needed!
Yesterday I viewed some videos on RAM speed and tuning. I own two 8-pack HyperX Predator 3200mhz units. I managed to adjust the speed to 3266mhz at 1.4V. Adjusting through the settings was really challenging—I was just trying guesses. Also, I used a DRAM calculator; otherwise, my PC would keep crashing. This morning I began slowly. Currently, I've configured: CAS Latency 16, Row Precharge delay 17, Read row-column delay 17, Write row-column delay 15 (estimated), CAS write latency 14. These settings have prevented any errors so far. My three questions are: 1. Is 3266mhz the true maximum for my system? 2. Why isn't Ryzen Master setting my CAS Latency to 15? 3. Did adjusting these numbers improve performance? Need advice!
What processor and motherboard are you using? That might be the main issue. Reduce performance. It enhances stability but limits timings to even numbers only.
This mode offers additional features. You can disable it if needed, though bypassing may be necessary depending on your setup. The -1 cl setting provides a specific benefit.
There is an option in the BIOS for GDM that you can enable or disable. Auto is active. The performance improvements are limited, and I believe the extra effort required to get GDM running isn’t worth it for a regular setup. If you attempt to keep CR1 active while GDM is off, you usually need to adjust termination settings, which takes a long time. Additionally, some motherboards won’t boot certain CL values even when GDM is turned off.
