Hello. Just checked my new ASUS ROG Strix B550 Gaming-F WiFi6. I was hoping for good charging via its ports, especially USB 3.2, but it doesn’t seem to work well. I’m curious if there’s a way to boost the output for faster charging from my computer.

Not widely recognized... Motherboard USB ports aren't intended for power delivery, that's their purpose. They facilitate data exchange between your PC and the device. The only high-speed charging connectors I've noticed on computers are front-panel adapters linked through SATA power cables. USB 3.2 must accommodate 5V charging at 900mA or 1.5A, which falls short of current smartphone requirements.

USB power sharing happens between both ends of the connection. The upstream device will only show what it can provide, while the downstream will either match that maximum or accept a lower voltage based on its setup. You can't alter the power output from an upstream port. If your motherboard has high-power connectors, they're typically labeled accordingly. Ultimately, the fastest charging will only happen with a device built specifically for that purpose, not standard ones.
