Hello community, I have a question regarding the R5 3600. When Chrome is running with around 20 tabs open and the PC is idle, it shows around 4.00 GHz according to Task Manager (Ryzen Master reports 862 MHz). The temperatures seem okay. Currently, at 38°C with Chrome active, the CPU temps are about 50°C. When stressing the CPU in Ryzen Master, the clock stays below 4 GHz even at 3,900 MHz during the test. Using the default settings in AMD Ryzen Balanced and setting minimum CPU usage to 5% doesn’t change anything. It remains consistent whether I switch to AMD Ryzen Balanced or not. I’m also using a Gigabyte B450M DS3H cooler (rev. 1.0 MOBO) and SilentiumPC Spartan 3 LT HE1012 cooler. Could anyone share any advice or notes on this? Thanks for your help, Best regards, Tomas

It's typical for the CPU to change its speed depending on the workload. It may increase one core to 4.2Ghz when necessary, but if all cores are under heavy use it will slow them down to 3.9Ghz. This adjustment helps you clearly see each core's boost performance in HWiNFO. Your CPU is working just as intended.

I'm adding both idle and stress measurements from HWiNFO. That should mean everything looks fine.

Behavior-wise, all-core boosts remain lower than single-threaded bursts.

Ran Cinebench R20 on a single core (AMD balanced) and it never hit 4.2 - 4.3 GHz. Performed well at 4.01 GHz (Ryzen master and Task Manager). Tested in AMD Performance too, same outcome. Consistent 4.01 GHz.

Use HWiNFO to inspect the individual chip that reaches 4.2GHz, as not every one will do so.
