Yes, it's intended for pushing CPUs beyond normal limits (like using liquid nitrogen). ~Note: Most mainboards, especially those with Intel chips, are limited to just two CPU generations, making it impractical to upgrade for future tech unless power needs are significantly higher than expected (which is unlikely).

The additional 4 or 8pin is mainly for extreme overclocking, though it's mostly a display for appearance and a gimmick to make the board look better. You just need one 8pin CPU power connector, which works well with a 336w system.

I tend to skip the specs because most times you can handle more power than it’s designed for. Just keep in mind that PSU quality matters—using low-grade cables will cause overheating and melting soon, so it’s safer to upgrade your crosshair and 1800x instead. The crosshair still holds some value, maybe around $150, while the 1800x is just outdated compared to cheaper options like the Ryzen 5500 or 5600.

Or opt for a used B3/450 to save even more—especially if you won’t be pushing the RAM too hard. The 1800x is just outdated compared to the 5500 or 5600, even with multiple cores. Sell it for around $80 and get a new 5500 for a total of $10–20 saved, which is a solid gain in performance.
