Check out an ATX socket 1151 that works with 3200MHz support without breaking the bank. Look for options from reliable brands like MSI, ASUS, or Gigabyte.

Consider replacing the board and upgrading the processor. Ideally, go with a 7700k or similar. Dispose of the old one and invest in something current.

You own a 7700k and an 1660 Ti, with your only PC component yet upgraded being this board.

Really, I thought a new update would speed things up... but it didn’t.

You can get a good deal by selling your 7700k for $200 and purchasing a 3600 instead of another $100 on a motherboard. Doing this lets you save money while still getting a solid upgrade.

You should consider a Z170 with the latest BIOS or a Z270. Check if your RAM is 1x16 or 2x8; if it's 1x16, think about getting another stick since single-channel performance on Intel systems isn't ideal.

I’d just keep the cash, you’re seeing a max 10% gap. Used parts come with risk for a minor upgrade, while new ones probably won’t be affordable because they’re no longer supported.
