I've identified the problem. Grounding the motherboard causes audio issues when connected to a grounded DVI cable or 3.5 mm jack. The PSU disconnection and power loss seem to be the root cause. Audio artifacts appear regardless of power supply status.

When discussing integrated soundcards, it's common to hear about their performance. For clear audio without distortion, opt for a quality PCIe or USB soundcard. You'll find silence is impressive and unwanted noise disappears. Many invest heavily in GPUs, but sound quality often gets overlooked.

The motherboards would behave this way whenever my speakers were active and I connected or disconnected them from the board. It also happened when the speakers were off, suggesting an issue with the motherboard itself.

My audio is actually going to a mixer. I removed the mixer and cables as a failure point. I tried several cables and they all connect properly. Plugging my headphones into the port doesn’t produce any sound, which suggests the issue is with the headset itself. Connecting directly to the line-in on another PC and seeing the same problems confirms it’s not just a mixer problem.

I haven't seen anyone using a PCI sound card in years. This seems unusual. It's not typical anymore.

I'm using a PCI card (Prodigy). My wife uses a USB card (Prodigy CUBE) and we both value quality. You haven't heard much about these products, but it seems some makers produced them, and a few cost more than a motherboard. It must be surprising that they keep making sound cards when nobody buys them, right? Of course, the best option is a weak onboard chip and complaining about issues. As I say, it doesn't matter much if most people don't use better sound cards and are satisfied with the built-in ones. Many people rely on mediocre speakers or cheap headphones—does that mean top-quality speakers are only for those with a budget of 1000 dollars or more? Don't focus on the majority; most are mistaken, especially when it comes to computers. That's why forums like this exist—only a small fraction of tech enthusiasts can offer solutions or fix problems that most people can't handle.
