Are there others experiencing problems with Modern Warfare 2 and Bluetooth headsets? When I activate Voice Chat in the game menu, my headphones automatically switch to HSP or Headset Profile, causing a noticeable drop in audio quality. I've used two different pairs of headphones and still faced this issue. I've adjusted the Windows audio settings to disable the microphone for each headset, ensuring they only function as receivers. The game is set to use my desk microphone as the default mic. This problem hasn't occurred with other games or apps, suggesting it's a game-specific bug. The only workaround I've tried is disabling Voice Chat in the game, which restores normal audio quality. Anyone have a solution? I need to participate in chat but am concerned about poor sound quality.

I'm facing the same problem too—it's really frustrating. I'm not alone, but I haven't found a fix yet. Hopefully it gets resolved soon. Appreciate the advice about muting voice chat; it helps a bit, though it's not perfect.

Excited to know others are interested. I’m counting on someone discovering this and offering a fix, or Activision will address it in a patch.

Additionally, you're experiencing problems with the Sony WH1000xm3 headphones. Even though you've connected a separate microphone, it continues to trigger HSP mode even after you turn off the microphone in Windows settings.

Hey there, I found a way. I’ll walk you through the steps for Windows 11, though if you’re using Windows 10 it’ll be a bit different—maybe you’ll need to use the control panel. - Go to Settings > System > Sound - Locate your headset in the "Input" section (it should be near the middle) and tap it to open its settings. - Choose the first option: "Audio: Allow apps and Windows to use this device for audio." Select "don't allow." Now the headset profile for your Bluetooth headphones will be turned off, so Windows won’t use it. It should work right away, but if problems persist, try closing and reopening apps or restarting Windows. If you need to turn it back on later, check the Settings > System > Sound window again—look under "Advanced" for "All sound devices." Click it, find your headset in the "Input" list, tap it, then choose "Allow." Let me know if anything doesn’t work. On Windows 10, I can guide you through it but I’ll need to remember the steps since I don’t have a copy of the install.

Y'all! I discovered the fix. This works for Windows 11. Open settings, then Bluetooth & Devices, select devices, and tap on more Bluetooth options. In another window, choose hardware and turn off the (RFCOMM Protocol TDI) setting. Fixed the issue where Bluetooth quality dropped to lower levels. Let me know if it helps!
