Bluetooth functionality on a desktop computer
I received the LG Tones and would like to connect them to my computer. I’ve used them with my laptop and they work well. Although I have some Hyper X Clouds, they tend to get very hot most days, which is why I prefer the cooling feature of my headphones and earbuds. I’m curious if anyone can suggest a blue tooth adapter. My friend suggested a USB type, and I’ve looked at them; most seem from brands we’d consider low quality. Does brand matter? I don’t want to spend too much money. The Hyper X Clouds appear to have a faulty cord.
Most USB Bluetooth 4.0 adapters should function properly. If the device includes a Qualcomm CSR8510, it will generally work regardless of the brand. For instance, this model is available at http://a.co/1QxtxFI. Another option is a Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth PCIe card. I own the one at http://a.co/5fHDlLz (Gigabyte GC-WB867D-I), and both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi operate well on it, though it may cost more.

Affordable Bluetooth adapters under $15 work well for most needs, just ensure they meet at least version 4.0. Some devices combine Wi-Fi and Bluetooth features, which can be more expensive. Avoiding high costs often means settling for less reliable options.
