Bluetooth connection problems with the Sony 1000xm4 on Windows 10
Hello everyone, I recently bought a Sony 1000xm4 and it functions perfectly with my Android phone. When attempting to connect it to my Windows 10 PC, I encounter the error "Check the PIN and try connecting again." The device appears in the list of discovered devices, but no prompt appears for entering a PIN or for the headphone/audio system to announce one. Even though my PC is a desktop with a CSR 4.0, drivers are installed by default on Windows, and updating them didn’t resolve the issue. I’ve tried several online suggestions, such as deleting specific registry paths in HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Bluetooth\ExceptionDB, restarting the PC, disabling or enabling the BT driver, and restarting the BT service. All these steps failed to help. I’m unsure what else to try since this error seems unique. Thank you in advance for your help!
I’ve managed to connect multiple Bluetooth earbuds to different Windows PCs smoothly, without any problems. I never had to enter a PIN. Have you unpaired the headphones from your Android device? If they remain paired, it might affect the connection (this has occurred several times for me). I’ve always used the built-in drivers that come with Windows 10.
