Bluescreen issues, reduced productivity in prime95, and crashes when DOCP is active
Hey there, I’ve got some concerns about my new PC setup. Here’s a quick summary of what I’m experiencing: The OS is Windows 11 x64 with the latest updates, a Ryzen 7 7700X processor, and an RTX 4080 with PNY. I’m using the ASUS TUF GAMING motherboard, which runs at 6400Mhz with DOCP enabled. The system is unstable when DOCP is active, especially with the RAM setup. Turning DOCP off fixed the problem and eliminated crashes. The motherboard seems to behave oddly—taking about 30 seconds to respond after DOCP, then switching between yellow RAM and red CPU lights, finally flashing to white. No documentation matches this behavior. I updated the BIOS and ran tests, but Prime95 and MemTest showed no issues. It looks like the motherboard might be the root cause, but I’m not sure if it’s the RAM or something else. Let me know what you think!
6400MT/s usually exceeds the capabilities of a Ryzen 7000 series CPU, especially in single-core performance. Lower it to 6200 or 6000 and it should function better. Also, XMP settings often get misinterpreted by the motherboard, so inputting the frequency, clock speeds, and voltage manually can improve results.
I didn't notice the issue, my checks showed everything normal. I confirmed DOCP was active, verified the timings, and adjusted the speed to 6000Mhz. The memory performance looked okay after testing with prime95 and furmark. Still concerned about the motherboard, but it might be linked to RAM speeds. Thanks a lot!
This seems to be a repetition of the Ryzen memory controller name, possibly due to confusion.
