It's been about four days since I upgraded my CPU to an I7 9700K with a Gigabyte Arorus Gaming Pro WIFI z390. Initially, I faced some Windows problems but managed to resolve them. Last night, while playing Apex with a friend on Discord, my PC froze and displayed a blue screen. The error code shown was CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT. It became stuck retrieving data at 33%, so I held the power button—probably a mistake—but it lasted over five minutes. After restarting, the next error appeared as 0xc000007b. I turned it off. Checking my gallery on my phone, the next step was MACHINE_CHECK_EXEPCTION. I attempted to use installation media, but Windows Startup Repair didn’t help. I tried reinstalling the OS following the original steps: unplugged the D drive, rebooted, and after resetting, it worked. There might have been overlooked details. I went to sleep afterward. The next day, when I restarted, it still reported the same error, likely CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT. My BIOS reset, clocks set to auto, and it ran at 4.6Ghz. I lowered it to 3.6Ghz, and it started working properly. My memory is terrible. Over time, whenever I ran the CPU at 4.0 or higher, a series of issues occurred. I reinstalled Windows but kept personal files intact. It seemed normal until it blue-screened after about thirty minutes. The CPU was still running at 4.6Ghz. Currently, I’m using 3.8 and it’s functioning well for over an hour. Windows has auto-updated my motherboard already. I haven’t tested running the CPU at exactly 4.0 yet to avoid more errors. I’m really stuck here.
