It contains connections that redirect to your usual web browser. Haha. Mostly no active features except the news section, which previously had complete patch updates.

There is indeed a solution. The launcher was introduced when Blizzard built their unified system. Using a player's BattleTag lets you communicate with them inside the game, across every Blizzard title, so someone playing WoW can talk to a friend in SC2 all within the same chat area. You can also connect through Battle.net’s friend list while they’re online or offline, and use the mobile app for similar interactions. I’ve even been watching Netflix and chatting with a friend who’s playing WoW or D3 all from the launcher. Just stop arguing about how it works and start using it properly.
