Blizzard mandates 200MB of unnecessary software to launch games.
Upgraded the launcher experience for players who enjoy multiple Blizzard titles. Enhanced usability for those with several games while keeping it simple for single-game users. Most improvements target the majority rather than a niche group. The change aims to balance functionality without overwhelming newcomers. It's worth noting that past versions still offered solid performance on Steam Originals and BNet, even with limited customization options. Folder management has evolved, but the core structure remains similar. Some players find the extra folders helpful, while others prefer a cleaner setup. The shift reflects broader trends in game organization rather than a major overhaul.
You’re upset about having a lot of unnecessary software installed and a huge amount of storage used by your operating system. What’s going on?
Blizzard keeps facing DDOS attacks for days, which is why downloads are unstable. As Builder mentioned, don’t worry about the 200MB—this isn’t even excessive. They’ve been using a launcher since the beginning of WoW. Recently they switched to a single launcher for all games instead of separate ones. Even 120MB for Origin doesn’t count as bloatware. Really, try to stay calm.
Don't worry about a massive 200MB file slowing down your connection or filling up your storage. It's not a huge issue—there are likely many other processes happening in the background that we're not aware of.
Thanks for letting me know. I won't discuss it. I don't have time for Elon Musk's patience.
