Hello, I'm trying to assist with your sister's PC. She recently installed a new GPU (Radeon 550 low profile). Initially, it worked fine, but soon after turning it off for a while, it would attempt to use it but freeze on the Windows logo and turn the screen black. The PC remained powered on. We suspect the issue might be related to the monitor, especially since it was an older model. After replacing it, the same problem occurred, but sometimes it worked briefly before shutting down again. It could be a Windows-related problem?
It might be a driver problem. If you didn’t replace the original drivers or install the correct ones for the new card yourself, the issue could be with the drivers. Alternatively, the card itself might be defective. Try using a different GPU or switching to an iGPU, then revert the system back to its previous configuration before installing the new GPU and see if it functions properly.
