I recently configured a waveshare monitor using a sensor display screen. I set up the Aida64 panel and everything functions properly. Yet whenever I power on my PC, I only see a black screen. The PC detects the monitor through display settings and NVIDIA Control Panel, but nothing appears on the screen. The only workaround that works is disconnecting the USB-C cable from the monitor and reconnecting it. Almost immediately, the sensor panel shows up correctly. I've tested various USB ports on the motherboard and even swapped out HDMI to USB-C cables, but no improvement. All other USB devices operate normally except for my Corsiar Virtuoso headphones. I can see iCue and Windows recognize them, yet I can't hear anything until I unplug and plug them back in. PC specifications: MB - Asus ROG Maximus Z790 Hero GPU; GPU settings: OC, Power management set to GameTurbo, USB selective suspend disabled. Waveshare support has been minimal but I continue contacting them for help.

You might have to reinstall your drivers. Press Win + Ctrl + Shift + B to test it and observe the outcome.

Thanks for the suggestion. I performed a reset and then restarted the device. It didn’t seem to help. The screen still appears normal, but there’s no display.

It might be related to your display drivers causing unusual behavior. Try removing the waveshare application and see if things normalize. Reinstall it and check functionality; if it works then it could indicate a corrupt installation. If issues persist, the software or installer itself may have a problem. This is my most likely explanation.

To my understanding, there isn’t a software version specifically for the Waveshare monitor. It functions similarly to a regular monitor but uses USB power only (possibly incorrect). Their website doesn’t list drivers for this model. Waveshare support suggested checking the online firmware updates and trying to connect via HDMI while unplugging and replugging it. They mentioned that updating the firmware might be necessary, possibly delayed because of the Chinese New Year. I removed the drivers and reinstalled them afterward, but the screen still didn’t appear at startup. The driver lists match those for a generic monitor (Microsoft 21/6/06), which seem up to date. GPU drivers are NVIDIA and current. Resolution and refresh rate are correct (60Hz, 1920x480). It might be a power issue to the USB port—BIOS didn’t show any problems, but the monitor only shows up after plugging in.

Looking beyond my understanding, the event viewer shows a warning about this monitor. Event ID 442 indicates a kernel-pnp device settings issue for DISPLAY\___3132 with an unclear match from the previous OS. It seems the migration wasn't complete because of partial or ambiguous device identification. I'm checking related information right now.

I own the same monitor and face the same issue. It was connected via USB to a Gigabyte M32U on the back of my monitor, but after switching to an Anker AC-powered charging bank, I’ve had to disconnect and reconnect the USB cable for it to power on.
