Black screen during startup
Black screen during startup
my pc starts up normally.
but there is no display, just a black screen with no beeps, fans running, and the peripheral lights working.
i use the monitor i have owned for years, which has an in-built pc, so i’m certain the screen itself is fine.
when i connect the pc and change the source, the screen briefly shows my Windows login area for about half a second, indicating it’s booting up properly.
i’ve swapped out the HDMI cable and used a brand new one, as instructed, but still only get a short view of the login. i’m at a loss to figure out what could be wrong.
i don’t have any other monitors to test with. there’s no reason I have to assume a hardware problem, that’s all i can say.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model.
