Issue
This weekend I built a new PC and decided to switch from Nvidia to AMD, but it hasn’t gone smoothly.
Last night I updated the BIOS and installed drivers, trying to play two games at once (FIFA & PUBG).
While playing, I occasionally get black-screened for just 2-5 minutes before the game abruptly closes. It doesn’t require a restart, but sometimes shows error codes or simply shuts down without warning.

My performance metrics look normal, and at the time of the black screen they were roughly 60c for GPU and 50c for CPU.
What I’ve tried
I removed drivers using DDU and then used an older Adrenaline driver, but the problem persists.
A memory tester showed no issues.
I ran 3Dmark and other stress tests (Kombuster) without encountering problems.
It might help to watch videos on Twitch or YouTube as well.
I’m curious if anyone else has experienced this issue and has any advice. It seems my troubleshooting steps haven’t resolved the matter.

I recently updated the BIOS on my MSI MAG Tomahawk B650 and installed drivers. I've tried playing 2x games like FIFA and PUBG so far.
What BIOS version do you have for your motherboard? Did you reset the CMOS after confirming the flash was successful? If not, follow these steps: power off the system, disconnect from power and display, remove the CMOS battery, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then replace the battery after 30 minutes.

I'm working with BIOS Version E7D75AMS.1E3 released on 01/03/2024.
I haven't cleared the CMOS after flashing the BIOS, so I'll try that now.
Edit: Additionally, I think I might be using a beta bios driver and plan to go back to Nov once they release a full update.
Sorry to hear that it didn't work. I even used my 2070 in the new build and it still crashed randomly when under load while playing games. I considered a PSU problem and tried a different cable with a 16-pin PCIE connector and two 6+2 pin connectors. At first it didn't work, so I had to restart the machine completely. I played a game for nearly 30 minutes without interruption. I just tested my RX 7800XT in an old build and it has worked perfectly for the longest time yet.
I wonder if the power supply unit of my new system might be defective, leading to problems with both cards. Does anyone else think this could be a probable reason?
