Hey everyone. I recently played Black Ops 4 but didn’t enjoy it much because the graphics were poor. I disabled all visual effects, which made it hard to see player models and kept the frame rate below 30 fps. After some time, I decided to try it again to check if updated drivers helped. Unfortunately, they didn’t improve things. But I noticed something interesting—lowering the in-game resolution from 1080p to 1050p (1650x1050) made the game run smoothly. When I increased the graphics settings afterward, everything worked well. However, at full 1080p it still looked blurry, almost like a filter was applied. I’d prefer playing at 1080p for better clarity. Any thoughts on why it performed so differently at those resolutions?

The problem lies in Battle.net being harmful to Activision's games. After using it in Modern Warfare 2019, I won't purchase another Activision title until they reintroduce Steam.

You haven’t received a satisfactory reply yet—have you considered reinstalling BO4? It’s often helpful to try that.

It shouldn’t be a huge jump in performance, yet 1650x1050 (1,732,500 pixels) is noticeably smaller than 1920x1080 (2,073,600 pixels). That slight increase could be affecting your VRAM buffer and leading to problems.

I attempted that because textures were loading slowly, possibly indicating an installation problem, though the situation hasn’t improved much. It looks like the main issue is related to the GPU, which would require a more costly solution than expected.

It’s clear you were expecting a bigger impact from texture streaming. The difference you noticed highlights how much resolution matters beyond just pixel count. For instance, at 1080p with reduced textures, the performance drops noticeably compared to 1050p when textures are higher. It feels like a strange constraint, but for now I see 1050p as my current limit.
