Black Ops 4 runs poorly in 1080p yet flows seamlessly at 1050p resolution.
Hey everyone. I recently played Black Ops 4 but didn’t enjoy it much because the graphics were poor. I disabled all visual effects, which made it hard to see player models and kept the frame rate below 30 fps. After some time, I decided to try it again to check if updated drivers helped. Unfortunately, they didn’t improve things. But I noticed something interesting—lowering the in-game resolution from 1080p to 1050p (1650x1050) made the game run smoothly. When I increased the graphics settings afterward, everything worked well. However, at full 1080p it still looked blurry, almost like a filter was applied. I’d prefer playing at 1080p for better clarity. Any thoughts on why it performed so differently at those resolutions?
You haven’t received a satisfactory reply yet—have you considered reinstalling BO4? It’s often helpful to try that.
It’s clear you were expecting a bigger impact from texture streaming. The difference you noticed highlights how much resolution matters beyond just pixel count. For instance, at 1080p with reduced textures, the performance drops noticeably compared to 1050p when textures are higher. It feels like a strange constraint, but for now I see 1050p as my current limit.
