Uncertain if others have discovered a dependable solution that helped, but I recently purchased Black Ops 4 and observed it consumes around 75% CPU, which is very high. Anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this problem?

There's a simple fix, upgrade your system.
I'm joking, that's quite normal. Switch to Battlefield, you'll see 75% GPU usage.

Is having more cores associated with reduced CPU consumption? Considering an upgrade to a 9700k and wondering about potential performance changes.

Having more cores generally reduces CPU usage, but it seems like this upgrade won't make much difference, perhaps only noticeable with a 2080Ti.

It's normal to notice high CPU usage in games, particularly when the frame rate is reduced, as the system works harder to maintain performance and achieve more frames per second.

Extremely high values would be 100% and maintaining. Your CPU is built to operate at 100% or lower. 75-95% is the ideal range for running demanding games. This shows it's functioning properly. Focus more on how it reaches and maintains 100%. Adjust settings when this occurs, and you're ready to play. If lowering settings doesn't bring it back to 100%, it could signal a bottleneck.

The key metrics to watch are your CPU and GPU temperatures. Excessive heat is undesirable. Aim to keep both under their maximum thresholds—ideally 10-15 degrees below the limit. For instance, my i5 reaches a max of 71°C, so I try to stay below 56°C. Going above that requires adjusting settings or limiting frame rates in certain titles.

My GPU can handle up to 91°C, but if it approaches 80°C, consider reducing some parameters or capping frames. You should aim for temperatures in the 60s-70s for optimal performance. While 80°C is acceptable, prolonged exposure reduces GPU lifespan.

Your CPU max temperature is 100°C. With a 5.0 OC, keep an eye on your temps. If you have a good cooler, you likely won’t face major issues.

These are just observations from my experience—feel free to interpret accordingly.
