When looking into this subject, many users encounter the same issue and struggle to access BIOS or Windows. In my experience, the screen remains active for roughly five seconds before launching normally. This causes a significant delay in startup. I've encountered mixed advice regarding possible causes. The solid white symbol doesn't change during booting, unlike some other indicators. My system uses an MSI MPG Z690 EDGE DDR4 motherboard. I've attempted updates to the BIOS, ensured my M.2 drive is prioritized, and turned off USB keys. It's worth noting this is the second board in this build where Windows was installed on the M.2 slot while the previous one was on the old motherboard. This difference might matter. Fast boot is enabled by default, not MSI fast boot. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

It seems likely it appears in the central left section similar to a terminal, even without blinking. This is typical across most MSI motherboards.

It would likely stop then, doesn't it? That usually means it's resolved rather than breaking. It might feel like it doubles something, but the actual change is confirmed through measurement.

It appears the screen displays a message for a short time before showing the MSI MPG logo during startup, which then takes a bit longer to load. I think if this was signaling an issue with my system, removing it could help speed things up. My BIOS currently shows around 15 seconds, so boosting it would be a good idea rather than doubling the speed. It seems safe to install and work with, but addressing this line would likely make booting much faster.

It could be. Perhaps it’s leftovers from an old command that wasn’t deleted, maybe because someone overlooked it. Running a virus scan might help, though I’m not sure it’s a clear sign of anything. Another person might have a better explanation. My system could too, but I didn’t notice at the time. Edited October 20, 2022 by Bombastinator

I don't believe a virus is causing the issue with my BIOS. I just re-flashed it using the M-FLASH tool, and it kept showing up even after updating to the latest BIOS version two days ago. I understand there are mixed opinions about what this means, especially since some people are stuck on that screen forever. Still, I think it's not a major problem. I thought it might help to ask if I could make my boot faster, as others have asked but never gotten a response.

That aligns with expectations. It could be harmless, but it might be worth investigating further. Looking into the details of who is affected and their system specs would be useful. There seems to be a chance it’s just a minor typo or formatting issue in someone's code. Still, it’s worth checking.

I'm facing the same issue but I can't proceed past the white underscore. Any help you have for an MSI H510M-A Pro would be appreciated.

The problem is that you're unable to start while I can, and I'm not certain if it's the same issue.
