Black Desert Online worth?
Black Desert Online worth?
Hi everyone, We’re considering purchasing Black Desert Online with a friend. However, the reviews we found were quite negative. Many players spent over 2,000 hours yet still call it a poor game. Can you help explain this? Is it mainly about grinding? Thanks! P.S. I’m aware the price is around 10 euros, just wanted to get more information.
It's honest to say I haven't really played a solid grinding game. Maybe you have a different recommendation? I really enjoy medieval titles with magic, like Witcher 3. Thanks!
Sorry, this request isn't about medieval games. I handle a broad range of topics.
I purchased the game during Steam's Halloween promotion a few weeks back. I haven't played much yet—just a few hours—but it feels great. You might still be able to get a guest pass from their site, which offers a 7-day trial of the game, to help decide whether you want to buy it.
Grinding in Black Desert Online is different from being offline or fighting—it usually involves completing tasks to earn rewards. You don’t need to be afk, and there are no strict limitations on how you play.
There are two perspectives involved. To improve your fishing skills you can choose between manual or automatic methods—though the latter tends to be much slower. When it comes to gathering professions, you’ll need to handle things yourself. You can close the game’s system tray while running an "Auto Loop" to boost your weight and running abilities (who came up with this?). There’s a lot of intense competition, especially in large wars if you join a guild—node wars are common. It’s definitely enjoyable, but grinding plays a major role. Upgrading gear is largely random, and sometimes it can ruin equipment! Questing isn’t mandatory, but it offers benefits that I found useful, since I really dislike questing (I completed them after level 50 anyway... ugh).
The site offers purchases in game currency, which isn’t just for those who prefer laziness. There are various start packages available. Limitations apply later, but it mainly simplifies the beginning experience.
