Could have fixed the issue by turning off C-states in BIOS

You're experiencing audio issues on your Ryzen 7 3700X with the ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F board. Check for loose connections, faulty cables, or damaged components. If problems persist, consider testing with a different cable or seeking professional help.

Are you connected through a direct power cord to your motherboard's front panel or via a USB adapter?

The external USB jack on the motherboard experiences similar issues, as does the sound card connected to it.

I experience audio issues when adjusting volume settings, especially with the ding sound. These pops also happen during gameplay at specific moments. In Warzone, a crackling effect appears after silence, and in AMONGUS it occurs shortly after a ship alarm sounds. The noises don’t reach my headphones fully since they happen in quiet environments. The listed components include various audio and power supplies but aren’t directly related to the problem.

I've observed a noticeable and bothersome cracking and popping noise during gameplay. The timing seems consistent across various titles, though the sound pattern differs—engine starting triggers a loud pop, whereas explosions don't produce it. My headset tends to "peak" and emit a sharp crack lasting about a quarter of a second. I've played intense audio through my headset and confirmed it wasn't the device itself. Additionally, the same noise occasionally occurs in Discord chats while people are speaking. In some games it's constant, while in others it's sporadic. I've tested five distinct headsets on a computer with similar issues, but only one displayed the problem. On a laptop without the issue, the sound was absent. I've attempted numerous fixes—swapping drivers, reinstalling software, updating BIOS, disabling driver downloads, and even changing audio settings—but nothing resolved it. I've also downloaded Realtek drivers from their site, updated my motherboard's audio, and used different ports, yet the crackle remains. Some jacks on my PC still produce the noise, and a specific USB adapter (TX-Hifi Type_C) caused the problem when moved. Using monitors didn't help, possibly because they're quieter. I've reset the system, tried driver updates, and even removed recent Windows updates, but nothing worked. I've also experimented with changing sound formats, disabling spatial audio, and switching to stereo or other modes, yet the issue persists. I purchased a $40 ASUS Soundcard just to replicate the exact sound. I've checked power outlets and tested various settings, but none fixed the problem. Some programs like Sonic Studio and Realtek Audio Manager caused the crackle when installed directly, while others didn't. It's possible my headset is fine, or there may be another factor at play.
