Bitlocker on Surface Pro device
Bitlocker on Surface Pro device
Hello, Your client's Surface laptop has BitLocker enabled on the C-Drive, which is functioning properly. However, a bluescreen appears during Windows 10 startup. Can you reset the device completely? I've already tried using a USB with a Windows installer, but it didn't work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Yannick
Are you attempting to restore the operating system or reinstall it? If restoration is possible, I’m unable to assist. If deletion is required, does the Windows (custom) installer permit removing partitions? If not, you may force the partition removal by pressing Shift+F10, typing DISKPART and executing "clean" on the relevant disk. From there, you can set up a new primary partition.
Ensure you possess the bit-locker recovery key before proceeding. It must be stored by the owner or recoverable from the system’s main account at Microsoft: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=237614. Formatting won’t disable BitLocker; it will render the drive unusable. Avoid physically accessing the device to extract the drive, as this can cause damage. For a full restore to factory settings (data loss), use system restore and keep the recovery key handy. Follow the guidance carefully at https://support.microsoft.com/en-ca/surf...overyimage
