Your school uses Enterprise editions of Windows 7, and you're asking whether BitLocker would still allow access to your Portable HDD on Home Premium versions 7 or 8 with a password. It's unclear if this setup would function as expected.

Once I protected my flash drive using BitLocker, it didn’t work on half of the computers at my school. Unless you have highly secure files, there’s really no point in doing it.
