Many businesses claim Bitdefender was the top antivirus in 2014. Is that accurate? As an ESET enthusiast, I’d consider it worth checking if it’s truly that strong when on sale.

They mentioned that as well, but I feel it’s a bit excessive. Using Malwarebytes plus Windows Defender works just as well.

It could be, personally I don't like it at all. I remember ESET was one of the top antivirus options when I had Windows XP. Nowadays I prefer purchasing premium products from Malwarebytes (lifetime). - I wouldn't recommend buying an antivirus program.
