Hello, I'm attempting to install an M.2 SSD but it isn't appearing in my BIOS. Here are the details: Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 ds3h (incorrect model mentioned, BIOS v50), CPU: Ryzen 3 3200G, SSD: WD Blue SN550 (500GB). Would I need a BIOS update to make it work? If yes, which version should I use? Additional notes: My PC functions normally. The Pop OS installer recognized the M.2 without issues, but the BIOS fails to list it. I have Windows 10 on a SATA 480GB SSD, which might be the issue—I'll test that drive tomorrow.

Does it appear in the disk manager? You might need to boot the drive. If not, visit Asrock's site (your motherboard is Asrock, not Gigabyte) https://www.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B450M-HDV R4.0/#BIOS

Gigabyte, check the "GIG" in the last photo. The colors match Gigabyte as well. Refer to your manual. Some motherboards turn off the first or second or both SATA ports when you add an NVMe drive. Try moving the SATA drive to another port.

Confirm your storage device matches the SN550 specification. WD also offers a WD Blue model with M.2 SATA, not NVMe.

I removed my SATA SSD and reinstalled the M.2 drive again. It’s still not appearing, even though both of my 4TB HDDs are working. I’ll test another system to check if the problem lies with the M.2 unit.
