Hello, I hope you're doing well. My new card hasn't arrived yet, so I decided to try Bioshock. I purchased the game and used my old GPU with a Radeon 9550 that has shader 2.0. I downloaded the patch for 2.0 shaders but haven't seen any changes—just the usual fire effect. Could you help me out?

Oh no, this feels really old. The only thing I can do is tell you to pause or send me my FireMV, since that would be more effective on your device.

I doubt Bioshock will function on a 9550. It likely has only 256MB of RAM at most. Most of the game's textures exceed that size. This card is quite old. I believe you're aiming for the original Bioshock version. Test alternative drivers; nothing recent should support it, though some modified legacy drivers might work from sources like Guru3D. Are you using Windows XP?

This item was introduced more than ten years ago. Consider displaying it in a tech museum or discarding it properly.

Originally Bioshock 1 functioned correctly, but recent concerns suggest AMD may not regularly test outdated GPUs with current operating systems and drivers. This could mean the issue stems from lack of developer attention rather than technical flaws, leaving players to troubleshoot independently.

That card is AGP, right? Do you have a system that supports it?
