A little background info before i get started. I have Two 8Gb Stick of ram which will be reffered to as Stick1 And Stick2. Originally started off with a single stick of ram (stick1) but shortly after i got my pc to post without shutting off, it just stop posting. Bought a new ram stick(stick2) and everything is fine. Im not able to get my pc to post with Stick1 by itself but it i combine stick2 and stick1 in dual channel config with stick 2 in the first slot, i can post with 12gb of ram total. basically stick1 is only showing up as a 4gb stick of ram rather the full 8gbs. Now all of my both ram sticks are being recognized as 4gb sticks rather than two 8gb sticks. Stick1 is indeed bad but couldnt be returned without receipt

It seems there was a mix-up. Could you clarify what you're referring to? I'm here to help with whatever you need.

It might also be the CPU or the board, but that doesn't look probable.
