Hey there! Just set up my new PC for the first time ever! (lol) I got the X570 Elite and when I powered it on, I saw a warning saying "Clear CMOS Information." It means the BIOS has been reset. Should I update my BIOS settings if needed? Is this something I should worry about? Thanks for your help!
It seems everything is fine unless something keeps happening. Just clear the BIOS and reset the system clock if necessary. Toggle features on or off as you prefer and press F10 to save changes. If the issue persists, it indicates a problem. Also, check that the CMOS battery is functioning properly; otherwise, settings will reset to defaults.
You received a standard notification about missing BIOS configurations. This has nothing to do with the motherboard age or any other factors.
Amazon, I purchased a new one. Thank you! It helps me relax. However, I received this message twice after updating my bios to the latest version (F11). Is there an issue with the mainboard? Earlier, I thought the mainboard was already used, not new. Apologies for the confusion.
Updating BIOS clears all configuration settings, so no. If the message appears intermittently despite no hardware changes or BIOS updates, revisit the issue and seek guidance. However, modifying components like the CPU or upgrading/downgrading the BIOS version will trigger the alert, which is completely normal.
