Bios not showing on AMD Threadripper 1950x
I'm facing a strange problem... I've checked forums but haven't found anyone else experiencing the same thing. The situation: when I attempt to boot into BIOS, it just stays on the system screen without showing anything. The backlight on all my monitors turns off, and the computer remains inactive. I know the BIOS works because I pressed Escape and Enter to start Windows after a blank screen. The hardware specs are pretty standard: Threadripper 1950x, MSI X399 Gaming Pro Carbon AC, 32GB (4x8), Gskill Trident RGB, 3200 MHz RAM, 1000W EVGA Supernova G+, MSI RTX 2080 Gaming X Trio, and an MSI 1060 3GB. I have two main displays—one for G-sync and another HDMI at normal refresh rate—and the 1060 also has a monitor port. Since my motherboard lacks built-in graphics, the BIOS shouldn't be able to output to another display or card. I've already tried resetting the CMOS, waiting 15 seconds, and using the BIOS flashback feature, but nothing happened. Also, Windows Safe Mode isn't working either. I recently installed Kaspersky Safe Kids on my PC, though I've booted into it before. I also tried entering Safe Mode with Kaspersky, but it blocked me. This has been frustrating. Please advise—consider alternatives to Kaspersky Safe Kids. It seems the system might be trying to show graphics that don't exist, possibly due to a virus or malfunction. Let me know if you can help. Thanks!
Consider eliminating the 1060 component and verify the BIOS battery. A similar problem was reported on a Lenovo workstation.
It seems the system was sending data to your HTC Vive unexpectedly. That’s according to what our Lord and Savior says.
