Bios not displaying Samsung 850 Pro
Bios not displaying Samsung 850 Pro
My machine kept running for years. I recently powered it off for a while. After the first restart, it displayed a blue screen right after launching Windows, and since then the drive isn’t showing up in BIOS. It worked on various SATA ports and another computer, but it still fails to appear in BIOS on any of them. I think it’s likely dead, but it might help to ask for advice if you have any suggestions.
I assume you also connected it as a slave drive, correct? Make sure the device you plan to use is ready, but before installing your drive, consider downloading and installing AOMEI Partition Assistant. Don't worry, a FREE version is available that covers all your needs. https://www.aomeitech.com/aomei-partitio...stant.html
I would proceed by downloading and installing the software, powering off the machine, inserting the SSD, restarting it, then running the partition assistant to check recognition. You might need to reinitialize the drive by creating a new partition and formatting it. Remember to click the APPLY button in the upper left corner during each step.
If this process doesn't recognize the drive, it's likely the drive is faulty. Given you've used it "continuously for many years," it probably still has value. Good luck!
