Hello, I'm working on assembling my first PC with an MSI MPG Z790 Edge Wifi board and a 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 SSD. I've accessed the BIOS but the SSD isn't showing up. Can you help me understand if the SSD is compatible with this motherboard? Also, why isn't it visible in the BIOS settings? Thanks!

Make sure EFI is activated and the M.2 slot is turned on. Change the SATA controller to AHCI.

Thanks for your prompt reply. We completed everything right away, but the BIOS isn't loading the heatsink yet.

I mean exactly what you're asking. Please share some photos of the installation so I can confirm it's there.

I attempted that process, cleared the drive and restarted the setup. Disconnected everything and then reinserted the SSD. Despite these steps, it’s still not being recognized. The system hasn’t installed Windows yet, and all parts are brand new.

We've also attempted that; perhaps the Windows installation wasn't completed.

I faced a similar issue when trying to activate the second M.2 slot. It turned out MSI BIOS isn't intuitive or user-friendly. The LiquidSky website has details on this: How To Enable M.2 In Msi Bios? – LiquidSky.com I hope it helps.
